With just a week to go, top level speakers and exhibitors are in place for Construct 2010 – the event which sees the launch of a major new report, set to transform the way the construction industry interfaces with the public sector.
The report – produced by Arup and commissioned by Constructing Excellence Wales – proposes new ways of collaborative working which could lead to a more sustainable industry, cut costs AND help deliver greener buildings and infrastructure.
Government ministers, leading international environmentalists and top names from the construction industry and the public sector will be there to take this important debate forward - which promises to create a new template for a sustainable construction industry.
All this an a superb opportunity to network - can you afford NOT to be there?
While the main thrust of the event will be UK-focussed, we can still learn a lot from overseas. And we’re delighted to welcome aboard a number of organisations and companies from Canada who will be taking part in the event.
Welcome to Construct 2010
How can the construction industry deal with a whole new set of challenges and
expectations – both from government and the public – on environmental
sustainability? At the same time, it is having to cope with a dramatic
downturn in the market and massive pressure on costings.
A one-day conference on 26 October 2010 will point the way forward for the construction industry in Wales – a country that is already positioned well ahead of the curve on the issues of sustainability and renewable energy. Where Wales leads, and demonstrates what can be achieved, others will follow.
